Operations under a Contract with UN
|
Since 1991 UTair Aviation has actively participated in transport provision for peace-support missions carried out by the United Nations Organization. On the basis of contracts made with UN, the company’s helicopters successfully performed transportations in the territory of various countries, in particular in Yugoslavia, Angola, Cambodia, Mozambique, Somali, Western Sahara, the Central African Republic, East Timor, Eritrea, Haiti and Iraq. At present the company is providing transport for peace-support missions in Sierra Leone (Africa), Liberia (Africa), the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire (Africa), the Republic of the Sudan (Africa), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Africa), the Republic of Chad (Africa), the Republic of Nepal (Asia) and the Republic of Afghanistan (Asia). The tasks include procurement of the mission points, performance of passenger transportations, supervision and monitoring, VIP transportations, holding of negotiation, emergency and medical evacuation, support of police special platoons. At present, there are 62 helicopters in operation abroad under contracts with UN alone: 11 Mi-8T, 25 Mi-8MTV, 19 Mi-8 171/AMT and 7 Mi-26; over 600 persons of personnel. |
