During the helicopter industry exhibition HeliRussia UTair Engineering and UEC-Klimov signed distributor agreement for after-sale maintenance of helicopter engines in Russia at the premises of joint repair center of TV3-117 and VK-2500 engines.
The companies established the Center in 2018 at the premises of UTair Engineering in Tyumen. Last year the Center repaired 12 TV3-117VM engines designed by UEC-Klimov. At average, engine repair takes 10-15 days. The specialists of UTair Engineering were among the first to master the maintenance of new helicopter engine VK-2500.
The Center plans to support the operation of VK-2500PS-03 engines in the latest Russian helicopters Mi-171A2. UTair-Helicopter Services became the first commercial operator of this type of helicopters in February 2019. Joint centers are to be opened in other countries. Repair is carried out in Tyumen Center, at UTair Engineering own maintenance stations in Russia and abroad, as well as at the facilities of third parties operating Mi-8/Mi-17 helicopters.
UTair Engineering supports full logistic component of the project and provides the furnished operational base, qualified employees of the Company perform engine repair and testing. UEC-Klimov carries out repair operations, quality control and technical documentation execution.
