UTair Evacuated Patient from Drilling Rig in the Kara Sea

Ka-32 helicopter crew of UTair - Helicopter Services performed urgent medical evacuation of a sick worker from off-shore semi-submersible drilling platform Nanhai VIII. The patient was delivered to Salekhard District Hospital by air under supervision of paramedics. The total flight range with refueling in Bovanenkovo airport was over 1300 km.
The medical evacuation was performed as part of cooperation with Gazprom Geologorazvedka which constructs exploration wells at Rusanovsky and Nyarmeysky licensed blocks in the Kara Sea. The drilling operations are carried out from Nanhai VIII and Arkticheskaya platforms. UTair - Helicopter Services provides 24/7 air medical support of the project implementation. The Ka-32 helicopter engaged for these operations is based in Mys Kamenny.
As part of the existing contract in the middle of September the Ka-32 crew also took part in complex emergency relief exercise of Gazprom Geologorazvedka JSC at the drilling site, having practiced their skills of urgent medical evacuation. The Ka-32 crews will remain on stand-by duty in Mys Kamenny until the end of October.
