UTair, VEB-Leasing and Russian Helicopters Signed a Memorandum During SPIEF'2018

On the 25th of May during the XXII Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum a trilateral Memorandum on cooperation was signed between UTair Aviation JSC, VEB-Leasing JSC and Russian Helicopters JSC.
According to the signed five-years Memorandum, VEB-Leasing with arrange financing of the transactions on purchase and lease of Mil-17 family helicopters manufactured by the companies of Russian Helicopters holding to UTair on the best competitive conditions.
The implementation of the Memorandum will be a logical continuation of the established partnership between the three companies. In 2017 VEB-Leasing also participated in a project for purchasing for UTair of eight Mi-8AMT helicopters manufactured by Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant which is a part of Russian Helicopters holding.
"The long-term outlook for the helicopter market development encourages UTair to upgrade and increase its fleet. Through the support of our partners we can promptly react to the market's demand and maintain the high level of quality and safety of the helicopter services that we've always been demonstrating" - commented Andrei Martirosov, CEO of UTair Aviation.
Signing of the Memorandum on cooperation is a part of the UTair Group's program for modernization and extension of the fleet of medium-sized multi-purpose Mi-17 helicopters, their number is currently 112, half of them are younger than 10 years old. In the recent six months only - from December 2017 to May 2018 - the Company put into operation 8 new multi-purpose Mi-8AMT helicopters. In May the Company became the first operator of the most anticipated new helicopter of the Russian manufacture – Mi-171A2 aircraft. In 2018 UTair will operate two helicopters of this type in Russia.
